As a Personal Futurist, a futures coach, I primarily work with individuals to explore their personal futures.
In practice, that means I support you in finding perspectives on your future at life’s crossroads, when imagining what lies ahead feels difficult.
I focus especially on situations where finding your own future feels hard or even impossible: after a serious failure, when your life or future feels unfamiliar, during a big decision or unexpected life change, or when it seems like you’ve lost all influence over your own future.
Of course, I don’t have a crystal ball.
The clearest view into your personal future comes from the attitude you bring to it, the curiosity with which you explore the world and your own life, the kind of everyday life you want to live, the choices you make because of it, and how you allow that process to grow you — both as a person and as part of a community.
My futures coaching is straightforward, practical, and experiment-driven.
It combines science, action, and intuition, and it is always shaped into something unique through our interaction together.
I coach through one-to-one sessions and online Personal Futures Journeys. I have very limited availability for individual coaching sessions.In fact, I don’t even consider them the most effective format for futures coaching.
That’s why I design my online Futures Journeys as comprehensive and hands-on deep dives into your own futures. Through them, you gain access to all of my expertise while also giving yourself the time and space to work through the material in your own way.
I also offer Guided Futures Exploration. They are virtual events you can join by purchasing a ticket, taking part as either an observer or a more active participant. A Futures Expedition might have 2, 20, or even 200 participants, and each one becomes its own deep, distinctive future experience.
Personal futures never happen in a vacuum. They are always in interaction with the community.
For groups and events, I offer futures workflows and futures dialogues that combine individual and collective perspectives, helping participants reach a deeper understanding of shared futures. Each group experience is also a chance for every participant to explore their own personal future.
Whatever the format, I see futures coaching as an exploration of the possibilities in your own future. Every coaching process always draws from three interconnected elements:
Fuel Your energy, stamina, and physical and mental resources. Body, mind, wellbeing, joy, hope, emotions. We make sure you have the strength and vitality to walk toward the futures you want to help create.
Futures Knowledge from futures studies. What you can perceive about the future, the spectrum of possibilities, curiosity and creativity, and the courage to challenge your current assumptions. We broaden your view of the future while uncovering and getting excited about new opportunities.
Focus Your personal compass. The direction. Keeping your gaze on yourself amidst all the chaos. Who am I? What kinds of futures do I want to live and experience? Here is where we dream, turn your excitement and energy into action, and develop your ability to live with uncertainty and incompleteness while moving toward your own future.
As a futures coach, I am a hopeful realist. Futures coaching does not necessarily aim for a perfect dream life with all challenges erased. Rather, it’s about building a meaningful future for you. One that may still carry responsibilities and realities you must, or choose to, keep.
Most importantly: your future is your choice. My coaching supports and inspires you on your journey toward a future that truly reflects who you are.
